With traditional telephone service from a legacy phone provider your phone service is delivered to you over a pair of wires which are tied up if someone is using them for a call. So every call involved 100% utilizing 2 wires between your location and the phone company. There was of course a limit to how many pairs of wires could be physically installed to each building from the phone company without incurring greater and greater installation and maintenance costs. with VoIP you can utilize either your existing internet connection or you can have a dedicated internet connection facilitates all the VoIP calls your business can make without the need for the Internet Service Provider (ISP) to install and maintain additional infrastructure.
